Finding Father Gods Love in the New Year
Here we are at the transition of a year change. It’s about to be 2013. New plans will be made, new resolutions will be construed, so much gets “new” as the calendar date flips over a year. Yet finding Father Gods love in the new year makes everything else work.
And it’s nice to refocus, to look over previous goals and set new ones. A new year gives us a fresh start, a chance to clean the slate and begin again. In fact, one of the symbols many use for wishing a Happy New Year is a baby. And a baby is a great representation of new life. How wonderful!
But with all the changes of numbers and seasons, there is one thing that never changes – God’s love. It is from everlasting to everlasting; His mercy never fails. As it is so well put in the Jesus Culture song, His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on me.
The same love that sent a baby to be born in Bethlehem and the same love that sent an innocent man to die on a cross, is the same love that draws you to Himself every day.
There has never been a time when you have not been loved. God has, does, and always will love you (Jer. 31:3). This will never change. Though people, jobs, seasons, and years change, one thing remains the same.
