Be The Church By Experiencing Fathers Love

Isaiah 60:2 — For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

Finding God’s love in an experiential way produces a faith on the inside of you that overcomes all of your fears, challenges, and the world around you. (1 Jn. 4:17, 18 & 1 Jn. 5:4)

Let’s consider how this works.

Fear

The world we live in trumpets fear all around us from Isis to unaffordable health care to long-held societal values slipping out from under us. Many Christians are falling to the wayside of living in a victim mentality like the Children of Israel in the Wilderness, afraid to embrace their destiny in the Promised Land.

Simply read some of the Facebook posts on the latest Supreme Court decisions concerning gay marriage and the Affordable Care act and you’ll see the deep concern, anger, and even fear so many Christians have for the future of the United States and their own well being.

Victim Thinking

Many Christians would like to see our government take a much greater stand for righteousness, and rightfully so. Yet does our fear and anger express at some level a victim mentality — a type of codependent thinking that the government should somehow make our world righteous and our lives protected and comfortable? If we are not careful, we abdicate.

Only Love Matures

We know there is coming a greater persecution of Christians. It can be challenging not to feel like a safe, comfortable life is the key to our sense of security and happiness. Yet I’m not sure that was ever the intended deal of Christianity. I believe that knowing experientially God’s love is the only path to a true sense of security and happiness. We are coming into a time in history where knowing God’s love can no longer be head knowledge only. It will have to personally become experiential to the point of casting out our fears. That’s how we can be the church by experiencing Fathers love.

Overcoming

I believe we have an unprecedented opportunity in this hour to “be” the church.

What if the Body of Christ came to a place of maturity whereby homosexuals or Obama Care legislators or any other people struggling are so drawn to what we have to offer?

Key – When I do Prayer Ministry with someone, the person often feels that some event occurred that is so hurtful that they can never be “okay” until it is somehow made right. However, healing never happens by changing a past the event. That is actually impossible. Healing occurs the minute the person realizes God has always loved them and has never left them. That there is nothing wrong with them and it is God’s love that actually got them through the hurtful event.

Now apply the above idea to the changing world we live in. We know that the dark is going to get darker, the Bible clearly says it will in Is. 60: 1-2. If we truly, at a heart level, know God’s love we won’t fear the changes in the world around us. We will shine even brighter!

Authority

How dark will the world and government get and will the Body of Christ change governments? I believe ultimately we will change the world around us. But I think we too often get the cart before the horse. First we have to be the church and not abdicate. We need to not just say we believe but truly walk out the our faith that God’s love carries us through anything.

When we walk in the Father’s love to the point we don’t fear what will happen to us we will be attractive to a deeply hurting world. Then we might be moving toward a maturity and authority that will affect the world around us and even governments.

  1. Great word! Love must be our motivator to remain in His heavenly presence and to petition the government of His Kingdom to come to this earth We are not mere mortals.

  2. Thank you Robert, excellent mini-teaching. It is just as you have expressed, truly only the love of God that we experience in our heart can change us. I was struck the other day with Romans 1:16 where Paul declared….”I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes…” I believe what Paul is saying is that, for all who believe, the love of God is the power that saves us. When I got saved I didn’t think it was the power of God at work, but at times when I have been healed I knew it was His power at work. The truth is there is no separation, or distinction, between His love and His power. Where His agape love flows, His power is present to heal the wounded soul; mind, emotions, and will, and the body of the person who walks in faith believing His Word. Hallelujah!!!

  3. Healing occurs the minute the person realizes God has always loved them and has never left them
